RN TRIATHLON KIT UP-DATE

The Kalas order, which includes the cycle shirts for all new joiners up Mar 2011, and the new Polo shirts have all arrived and are ready for distribution. To ease the logistical and financial burden the plan is to centrally locate kit at: FDG HQ, Horsea Island, Portsmouth (POC WO1 Steve Fitzjohn Mob: 07768 066868/ E-mail: [email protected]), SDG HQ, HMNB Devonport (POC WO1 Robin Rickard Mil: 9375 65498/ E-mail: [email protected], and HMNB Faslane (POC Lt Cdr Paul Goddard E-mail: [email protected]). I will also be taking Polo shirts and cycle shirts to the following events: RN Sprint and RN Olympic Champs, so individuals can arrange collection at these events. All new joiners and members are requested to contact their nearest above named POC to arrange collection, exceptionally if a collection can not be made then contact WO1 Steve Fitzjohn to make alternative arrangements. For those members that ordered kit and paid for postage and packaging, your orders were sent on the 9 May 2011; if you do not receive the items within the next two weeks please contact WO1 Fitzjohn.

Please be advised though that the prices on this site are a guide only!  The nature of the beast is such that the more we order the bigger the discount. Once all orders are in I will obtain a quote and then let you all know personally what your costs will be.  As a rule of thumb, add £10 to the prices quoted and then 10% VAT and you won’t be far wrong.  Follow the guides and descriptions on this site or contact me for help.

If you are unsure as to what size to get then have a look at the size guides to assist in your decision.  Also on the Forum on this site under the “For Sale/Wanted” heading there has been a trend, “Feedback”, started where club members who have already received kit have added their views on the kit and sizes etc.  Contact people if you need to.

RN Triathlon Radsheep RS Base Layer Tops

I am taking orders for the RS Base Layer Tops from Radsheep; they retail at £25.20 + the standard £2.50 PP. THE BIKE/TRI KIT!

001 PERUN SHORT SLEEVE TOP

An all round jersey material suitable for all cyclists.  With its shiny surface accented with textured squares, it feels comfortably soft, has great movement range and offers superior comfort. Ventilation and moisture transportation are of the highest quality and even though the material is lightweight it offers great wind protection.

002 PICOLLO THERMO LONG SLEEVE TOP

The Picollo Thermo material has a matt outer surface and a fleeced inner lining giving excellent protection when there is a chill in the air.  It can be worn during the warm up and keeping warm post cycle or worn underneath the No Wind or Mission Light Jackets for the full insulating affects, it is fully breathable with excellent wicking properties with three rear pockets.

003 MISSION LIGHT JACKET

As the name implies this is a very lightweight jacket, loose fitting with some wind and water proofing properties.  Small and lightweight enough to roll up in pop inside a rear pocket of a Perun or Picollo tops this jacket is ideal for the warmer day when the weather doesn’t quite know what it’s going to do.

004 MISSION LIGHT PICOLLO/THERMO JACKET

As the days start to become more chillier bridging the gap between the Mission Light and No Wind Jackets the Mission Light Picollo/Thermo Jacket has combined qualities of both makes of jersey.  Water resistant across the front of the jacket with the more thermal properties across the back where the wind can chill a rider and with the added bonus of removable sleeves, reflective piping, three rear pockets and one zipped pocket this jacket is an all rounder.This jacket has recently been worn by the kit manager mountain biking and as a light thermal layer after the pool on a sprint triathlon.  It’s performance was outstanding and is well worth the money to take the chill from fresher days without the need for a full jacket!

005 NO WIND JACKET

This jacket is extremely multifunctional with material that is windproof, highly water resistant, breathes well, and will keep you warm and dry whatever the weather during your early season rides.  With removable sleeves this is a very versatile jacket and a must for those who experience colder rides and want the full thermal and wind/water proof protection.  Reflective piping and strips, three rear pockets for spares and a zipped pocket for a mobile phone complete this excellent jacket.

006 GAMEX GILLET

This lightweight gillet offers riders great protection against rain and cool weather and easily fits into a jersey back pocket.

007 BIB SHORTS

Made from Power Lycra which is denser and slightly heavier than normal Lycra, helping the thigh muscles return to their initial relaxed position after each pedal stroke.  Riders experience an increased comfort due to the tighter and better fit that Power Lycra provides.  Only the best Lycra is used bringing stability to your muscles and shaping to your body. When ordering, the shorts should be tight fitting to secure this stability. Bib shorts should have a tight fit of the straps over the shoulders and the wide straps and a broad elastic band around the legs contribute to a maximum fit and comfort.

NB:  ”Y-CUT” NET STRAPS, FOR LADIES”

Kalas offers two alternative strap systems for our female athletes. The traditional two-straps and the Y-cut. They are equally shaped on the back, with the Y-cut coming together in one broad strap in the front between the breasts, avoiding friction and producing a comfortable fit when riding.

010 BIB TIGHTS ROUBAIX, UNISEX

Roubaix:These tights are fleeced lined and are designed for the really cold days. A high cut front with zipper, and a high back combined with broad straps that will adjust to the user after time all combine to give an anatomically advanced fit. Straps under the foot keep the tights in place and prevent them from creeping up whilst riding.

011 TRI SUITS 

The tri suit speaks for itself.  Worn in a recent Duathlon and Sprint Triathlon the suit was exceptional in comfort and fit.  The close fitting and sleek material provided for a smooth swim during the Triathlon, the rubberised leg gripers meant that the legs stayed in place and did not ride up the leg during both cycle and run stages.  The fine net mesh on the back gave for a nice amount of ventilation which was assisted by the 25cm zip on the front.  The small insert pad gave enough protection on the saddle without compromising running comfort.  The two rear pockets are enough to house energy gels or bars, however they are close enough to the suit as to not affect drag in any way.  This is an awesome suit with some great qualities and can hold its own with more well known makes!

THE TRAINING KIT!

008 ¾ KNICKERS UNISEX

A thin, light lycra material, ideal for warmer day when full tights are too warm.  These have been worn recently by the kit manager for running and have an amazing performance with great “Clima Cool” properties.  With the high waist band these can also be worn on the bike with or without and pair of shorts over the top.

009 TIGHTS LYCRA, UNISEX

These tight fitting Lycra tights offer protection and warmth on cooler days, with an elastic waist and broad elastic band around the legs keeping them in place.  As with the ¾ length Knickers these bottoms are worn by the kit manager for all slightly colder runs and they perform as well as any Ron Hill or Craft bottoms also worn by the kit manager.  Also has a high waist band so can also be worn on the bike.

A full range of running a general training kit in Blue for men and White for women with added logos.  All have a slightly different appearance to them so that no one item is the same adding their own individuality.

 

012 RUNNING VEST

Made from Radtex Fine material for the hot summer days for total moisture wicking, but also added warmth when worn over the base layer!

013 RUNNING BASE LAYER

Radikool StretchMoisture management garment. Designed to be worn tight next to the skin and to keep the body warm during exercise but is also of high breathability rapidly transmitting moisture away from the wearer. Cover stitching seams to help prevent chafing.

014 MOUNTAIN BIKE SHORT SLEEVE  & LONG SLEEVE TOPS

These two garments originally bought for running and training did not live up to expectations!  Although working ok they did not shine whilst being used out pounding the trails.  However, when used recently for mountain biking both of these tops performed very well as a loose fitting "Freeride or Mountain Bike" top much like downhillers use. Made from Radtex 155 which is a performance fabric for added moisture and wicking control they are lightweight enough for warmer days but with added thermal properties when worn as part of a layer system with the other garments. If you prefer not to be restricted by close fitting standard cycle tops whilst out in the forests on your chunkier steed these are the tops for you! These are a loose fitting garment and are designed to be!  If ordering bear that in mind.

015 RUNNING V-NECK LONG SLEEVE TOP

As for the Short Sleeve designed to be worn as a top layer over the other garments.  This garment comes up big so order with that in mind.
