NAVAL SERVICE SPORTS ACCOMMODATION PORTSMOUTH

The replacement of legacy accommodation with SLA has resulted in a reduction of available bed spaces for Naval Service sports people when training and playing away from home units. As a result a new dedicated non-publicly funded sports accommodation facility has been built at HMS TEMERAIRE, Portsmouth. The 60 bed facility will be entirely funded by the RN/RM Sports Lottery, the Nuffield Trust and the NS Amenities Fund.

Who can use the facility?

Accommodation will be allocated to approved  Service  Sports users of HMS TEMERAIRE and Portsmouth area  Sports Facilities  and will in most cases support activities programmed in the Naval Service  diary, broadly prioritised as follows:

Naval Service Sport (includes visiting other Service Teams (Inter-Services)

Naval Service Sports Associations (training camps and coaching courses)

Command Competitions and Training.

Other approved courses in support of Naval Service Sport

All groups will require a nominated OIC whose responsibilities will be laid down in the Joining Instructions. He or she will act as a single point of contact for all arrangements before, during and after the period of residence.

Users will not be charged and clean bedding will be supplied. It should be noted that all Naval Service users must be members of the RN/RM Sports Lottery.

SPORT ACCOMMODATION PLYMOUTH is currently under construction and is situated in HMS RALEIGH.  A full page of booking details will be posted once the facility is complete and ready for bookings to commence.  Expected to be available Apr 12.
