HMS Nelson’s facilities include two full size gymnasiums which are suitable for the majority of indoor sports including Tennis, Basketball and Indoor Hockey.  There is also a fully equipped Boxing Gym a CV suite and a separate weights training area which consists of both fixed weight training machines and Olympic weight training facilities as well as a Functional training suite. Lessons are provided offering both one to one and group tuition.  Healthy lifestyle and fitness classes are well attended and run weekly as well as spinning, body pump and Muai Thai.

There are many sports clubs and societies such as rugby, cross-country and boxing.  There is also AT equipment available from the Command Adventurous Training Office in Burnaby Road.  The outdoor facilities are located at HMS TEMERAIRE and include a water based Astro turf stadium, Artificial Turf Pitch, ATP, a stadium soccer pitch, 6 lane running track, athletic stadium, two grass dual football and rugby pitches, county rugby pitch, cricket wicket and outdoor grass tennis courts.

The indoor tennis courts in the Tennis Dome, opposite TEMERAIRE main gate, are also available for use.  Three 60 foot, 8 berth narrow boats are available for weekly hire.  Berthed at Calcutt Boatyard which gives easy access to both the Oxford and Grand Union Canals.  The season runs from mid March to mid November with bookings being taken from 1st Dec.
